This was my second interview with this firm in 4 years.
Responded to a Craig's List posting. Met briefly with a few techs in the office, but the main interview was with the CEO. The company is basically a tech support and IT services firm for city-bound clients, almost all on the public transit system. There is a strong mission on the part of the company to be green and to do community service of some kind, while serving many non-profits and charitable organizations' IT needs. Office is extremely spartan, nondescript, and in an out-of-the-way location in South Boston near Dorchester (this differs markedly from some metro west firms who service VC's, bankers, and other wealthy clients).
CEO has run the company since the beginning in the early 90's. The interview was not very focused; at one point, the CEO wondered aloud "just figuring out how we could utilize you..." not a good sign. We discussed what the position pays - very low compared to my current salary (even the CEO claims that she does not pay herself six figures). We talked about technical strategy philosophy for a bit, then I ended the intervew stating that it did not seem like a fit.
Overall, a good community-centric, socially responsible organization who provides competent IT services at a fair price. Seems like a relaxed environment. Good for someone who doesn't want to drive and enjoys working with non-profits and other civic-minded concerns. I cannot comment on the training or work environment, but I think its fine, mainly for younger less experienced techs. Pay is low for senior techs.
