      Software Engineer Interview

      18 Mar 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

      I interviewed at Teamworks (NC)

      Interview

The interview process includes a hiring manager screen, technical assessments (coding and system design), and a final team interview. While the hiring managers were very pleasant, the coding assessments felt overly simplistic. It was difficult to discern what specific competencies were being evaluated, as the tasks didn't seem to probe for deep technical proficiency or broader architectural knowledge.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The primary focus was a live coding exercise. While the task was straightforward, it felt a bit too basic to truly demonstrate technical depth. I also prepared additional examples of my past work to provide more context on my expertise, but the interviewers were strictly focused on the coding task and didn't leave a window for a significant amount of candidate-led discussion or deeper technical review.

      Interview

Terrible company, don’t apply here. Believe all the other stories of how they ghost you. They put me through 6 rounds over the course of two months and just disappeared at the end. No responding to calls or emails, nothing. Then a month later a rejection email. Thanks for the waste of time! Rounds: 1. 30 minute recruiter call 2. 30 minute hiring manager 3. Take home (3 hours) 4. 1 hour live coding interview 5. 45 minute system design/arch 6. 45 minute grilling by two technical VPs. One guy was a jerk, the other a weirdo After all of that, they just disappeared, and actively ignored emails and calls. Complete ghost for a month. Extremely unprofessional. Dodged a major bullet.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Implementing python micro service (unpaid, mind you), live coding exercise of implementing a tax calculator, basic system design/architecture, then grilling you with questions on how you work

      Software Engineer Interview

      22 Mar 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Teamworks (NC) (New York, NY)

      Interview

HR screen with someone who was not prepared for the interview. Asked very little about experience or fit for the role but mostly very negative questions as if I was the "other" candidate that they needed to interview before making an offer to someone else. If I'd received an offer I would have declined.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

How do you feel about working long hours?

Thanks for your feedback. The first interview that is conducted with someone at Teamworks is the cultural interview where the conversation is to get to know the candidate and for the candidate to get to know Teamworks. As described in the email that set-up the interview, the conversation is purposefully not geared to get into specificities of the role which would explain why the person conducting your interview did not ask you questions about your experience. Are you sure you interviewed for a position at Teamworks located in Durham, NC? If so, then we apologize for making you feel like you were the "other" candidate because we would not waste our time interviewing someone who we were not interested in. We appreciate the feedback you have given us and will try to do a better job of managing the expectations of the cultural interview with future candidates.
