The interview process is multiple stages: Resume submission, essay, sample lesson, group activity, and one-on-one. I did a reasonable amount of preparation for the latter three components and would recommend others do the same. Time your sample lesson and don't overcomplicate things. It's far better to choose a very, very simple concept and do it well than something overly complicated and do it poorly. It was clear who did and did not rehearse beforehand. TFA provides a lot of "suggested reading" or guides for the interview process. This can cover anything from information about initiatives started by previous alums or how to work their video chat system. Again, it was clear who did and did not take the time to read this material and prepare.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The majority of the questions are behavioral/hypothetical situation questions rather than directed at specific policy or teaching theory.
I applied online. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Teach for America (Philadelphia, PA) in Dec 2024
Interview
The interview was very different from most interviews but I was definitely well-prepared with the resources that TFA had offered in preparation. My interviewer was very nice and it often felt like a conversation between us about whatever question was asked which was nice.

Question 1
Why do you want to be a part of Teach For America?
I applied online. I interviewed at Teach for America (Ithaca, NY) in Oct 2024
Interview
The interview started with a mock lesson and case study, followed by questions about me and my interest in the position. I prepared slides to present to the interviewer and shared my screen.
You had to complete a demo in front of other candidates as well as recruiters. The demo itself was short and you had flexibility in what you “taught” for your lesson.
