First an interview with a Teach First assesor, who has been through this before and know is involved in the recruitment process happens. I got asked questions such as:
How have you responded to a situation in which your authority was challenged?
When have you come up with an innovative solution for a problem?
When have you had to show leadership qualities?
How have you dealt with failure?
The next part of the assessment is a group exercise. For this we had some information on prospective uni gradce pupils, and had to only put one forward. It was designed so that you could persuade others that your student was best. You had to really sell them, and at the same time point oout the flaws of others candidates.
The final part was a presentation which you had prepared beforehand on a given topic, and two assesors acted like naughty children trying to distract you and throw your 'lesson'.
