I applied through university. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Tata Consultancy Services (Rait) in Sept 2012
Interview
One full tiring day. Difficulty level was really very low. No set of standards were followed in picking up the candidates. A easy go for the freshers. It depends on who is your interviewer is. If your Technical round goes well, your would have Managerial round along with technical, Else you would have to sit for another MR.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Technical And Managerial Round:
1. Tell me about yourself. (The interviewer didn't pay much attention to your reply)
2. About your family. (Again very ignorant behaviour.)
3. Your favourite subject. (I said Linear Integrated Circuit Design - Electronics subject. He shows some serious interest.)
4. Ask me what is op-amp, conceptually and practically. About its different uses in today's world.
5. About filters using op-amps, comparators, differentiators and integrators.
6. Algorithm to get a set of prime numbers between a particular range, and the highest prime number in that range. How to deal when the range is quite high? (efficiency about my logic). Had a great long enjoyable brain storming discussion about different scenarios and its possible outcome and efficiency.
7. What would I do to set up an IT firm, a start-up?
HR round:
1) Tell me about yourself.
2) About your family background.

Interview
After clearing the TCS National Qualifier Test (NQT), I attended a single interview round that combined technical and HR questions. The interviewer focused on my projects, programming knowledge, and understanding of current technologies. One of the main discussion topics was the difference between traditional software systems and AI-based systems. The interview was conversational, and the interviewer evaluated problem-solving ability, communication skills, and technical understanding. The overall experience was positive and the difficulty level was average.
