1. Initial Phone Screening:
HR Contact: A friendly HR representative reached out to discuss the position's salary, work hours, and general working conditions. They also took some time to get to know me better.
2. Home Task Assignment:
Prompt: Following the initial call, I was asked to complete a 2-hour home task. I promptly provided my availability for the task, but I didn't receive a confirmation email. On the designated day and time (7 pm), I still hadn't received the task instructions so I had to call the HR that answered asking me not to call her anymore, and saying that I would receive the e-mail at 7:30. The home task itself was engaging and didn't take too long to complete.
3. Advanced to Interview Stage:HR Follow-up: After successfully completing the home task, I received a call from HR informing me that they were interested in moving forward with the interview process.
4. Interview with Team Members:
Zoom Meeting: The next step involved a virtual interview with my potential team members via Zoom. This was an opportunity to interact with my future colleagues and gain insights into their work style and the team dynamics.
5. In-Person Meeting: The next interview was conducted in person with the team lead. Then I received a call from Hr saying that they wanted to continue the process and I had a zoom interview with the Manager.
Feedback and Process Concerns:
Unclear Process Structure: Throughout the interview process, there was a lack of clarity regarding the number of stages involved and the overall timeline. This created a sense of uncertainty and made it difficult to prepare effectively.
Communication Issues: I experienced some communication breakdowns with the HR representative. After attempting to follow up, I didn't receive a response until the following day when I was informed that I hadn't been selected for the position. Additionally, despite being promised feedback, I never received any.
Overall Impression: The overall interview process left me feeling disappointed due to the lack of transparency, communication issues, and the absence of constructive feedback.
Overall, the interview process could have been improved by:
Providing clear information about the number of interview stages and the overall timeline.
Maintaining consistent and timely communication throughout the process.
Offering constructive feedback to candidates, even those who were not selected.
