The process took 1 day. I interviewed at Taboola (New York, NY)
Interview
I met with two people. One of which I met in person and had an amazing interview. We spoke at great length and everything flowed pretty naturally. She had questions written to ask me but wound up not needing to ask because the answers to her questions came out naturally through our conversation. I then went on to meet the second person who I had to interview via video call as she was abroad. This is where an interview that I had thought been going really well so far kind of fell off. The interviewer did not have my resume on hand and had not even seen it before speaking with me over video. Despite the resume issue, I thought the conversation still went well and even offered to provide her my resume via email.
Towards the end, I met with the recruiter and tried to wrap up what I could grasp so far from the company and overall demands of the position. From the conversation we had, it seemed like they were very serious in looking for someone but seemed to be taking a very long time in making a decision on the kind of candidate they were looking for.
It felt like a smack in the face when I received a generic email from an email address that wasn’t even that of the recruiter that I had been making contact with throughout my interview process telling me they had decided to move on with other candidates. Despite the fact that I had spent 2.5 hours interviewing there sending me a generic email was just rude. Had the email at least been sent by the recruiter I would’ve felt a little less offended at how they were very impersonal with me even though I was told they hadn’t had that many interviewees so taking the time to email me would not have been too much to ask.
Long story short, these people must think they are above even qualified candidates. They’ve had this position open for over 5 months now and they are still actively seeking a paralegal. But at this point if they aren’t willing to come down to earth and humble themselves they will never find a candidate worthy of working in this position.
My suggestions for this company is to interview with the understanding that if you’re pulling their resume that candidate should be expected to perform the duties required by the position. Having someone in is to see if they would make a good fit. Figure out what you want then invite people in. Not the other way around.
I applied online. I interviewed at Taboola (New York, NY)
Interview
Made it through 5 rounds of interviews only to be ghosted for 2 weeks. Quite unprofessional. Everyone in the New York office was kind and wonderful, but the same cannot be said of the overseas team. Took off 2 days of work to interview in person and wasted countless additional hours that I can never get back.
We appreciate you taking the time to candidly review your interview experience, and we're sorry your recent candidate experience with Taboola was less than stellar. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our candidate experience, so your feedback is very valuable to us.
