First interview: about an hour. in person with two people from management within the department applying for. General questions (e.g. why do you want to work here, what do you bring to the table, what are your key values), questions related to the position, and situational questions (e.g., what to do you if....)
Second interview: about 2-3 hours. In person with executive director, HR/business director, and another department head. All very nice, professional people with good questions. There was some repetition (tell me about you) but that’s understandable when you’re meeting someone.
The one thing I didn’t like was that I feel as though they weren’t transparent with salary. I was asked what my expectations were and at that point I asked about the salary. I was given a range which but the way it was stated was not confidently.
They say “competitive salary” and I’m not sure how to personally evaluate it. It was a decent pay cut for me but I was expecting that. I didn’t get the job so I can’t say whether future negotiations would have been possible.
