I applied online. I interviewed at Stratolaunch (Mojave, CA) in Jun 2026
Interview
One phone screen, then at least one round of virtual interviews, then a “final round” on-site of 2-3 one-on-one discussions with director level leadership and technical whiteboard challenges, followed by a facility tour (where they continue checking your skills through questions).
I was invited on site to the final round for three different roles. I believe too many candidates are being invited to this “final round” and a lot of the reasoning behind my rejection could have been determined in earlier sessions.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
You are asked by a government customer to design an optical device with a detailed set of requirements. Discuss which discipline teams you would recommend arranging discussions with to better understand the impacts, costs, and schedule to ensure the requirements are met, and what you would expect each of those teams to contribute.
Took about 3-4 weeks, 1 week I applied then received a 30 min phone call, following week was 45 min technical phone call with a senior engineer. Then an onsite 4 hour interview. On site interview can be long so be prepared to be there 4 to 5 hours
I applied online. I interviewed at Stratolaunch (Mojave, CA) in Oct 2023
Interview
First an HR phone call then technical interview with engineering manager and lead of department (jointly). Overall the interview process was less technical and involved than many other aerospace companies which require presentations and many more rounds.
