I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Strategic Legal (Detroit, MI) in Feb 2013
Interview
Met with someone over Skype to make sure I am a decent human being :) I was able to do it from the hotel room of the conference I was at. The interview was pretty easy. Mostly asked about past doc review experience.
I applied online. I interviewed at Strategic Legal (Durham, NC) in Jan 2015
Interview
simple 15 minute call with client attorney. First had a phone call with a recruiter from the agency. A few days later had a skype call with one of the client's attorneys in new york. Very simple, pleasant process.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Strategic Legal (Raleigh, NC) in Jan 2015
Interview
Email from recruiter, set up for Skype and spoke to two associates assigned to the case. They were pleasant. If you have done document review before, you know what it is. Not a great way to spend the day. Pays more than retail or parking cars. Requires a law degree. The case that I worked on was interesting, but this level of work belongs to robots or drones, and it can be depressing. I gained 10 pounds. Average number of documents reviewed was 1000 per day. Most of them were irrelevant, many were beyond irrelevant. Everyone was very nice and no one says much about how disheartening it is to know what you know and to fill out radio buttons of a very limited scope for 8-10 hours per day. Calgon take me away. Someone is making money and that someone is not you.
