I applied online. I interviewed at Strategic Investment Group
Interview
Had two interviews. The staff was friendly. Really enjoyed talking to interviewers. Overall, it's a great interview experience. I was able to learn more about the company and its culture.
I applied through university. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Strategic Investment Group (Washington, DC) in Sept 2020
Interview
The first-round interview was great. It is focused on behavioral questions, and you will have to provide detailed descriptions of your internships and skills. I interviewed with a senior analyst of the company, and he was very friendly and easy to talk to. That said, I did not get to proceed to the second round because everyone from their previous intern class accepted their full-time offers.

Tell me about yourself.
Can you describe your computer skills?
Tell me about your internship at Company A, B, C.
How would your friends describe you?
Why Strategic?
Why has value not worked thus far in 2020?
The interview super day was a a 2 hour exercise to solve problems an OCIO would perform. You get the word file on a flash drive and have to solve it all yourself. It’s pretty poorly written and you’re doing all the work that would be done through company paid software. Know the basics such choosing between portfolios, what benchmarks to use, and creating an optimal portfolio using data analysis tool pack on excel. The next day you have an interview with about 6 people or so from various positions within the firm. Some interviewers are really nice and others are there to grill you on finance questions from top bulge bracket firms they didn’t get hired at. You’ll be able to tell who is who right off the bat. You also get a tour of the building and the back office staff is really nice.
