I interviewed at Sterling Trading Tech (Chicago, IL)
Interview
The interview process was very smooth. included 4 interviews total.
1: classic first round exchanging pleasantries and getting the lay of the land, quick prior experience summary and a few questions, as well as next steps.
2: Met with current manager for a more structured interview including qualitative and quantitative questions about handling specific scenarios and similar challenges faced in prior experiences, how you handled etc. also discussed comp
3: Interview with current team lead and another analyst who asked questions from a structured sheet, looking for culture/team fit and some personality questions, finished with Q&A
4: This was less of an interview and more of a confirmation call for accepting offer, showing interest
I applied online. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Sterling Trading Tech
Interview
Received a phone call to schedule an in person interview. Very basic interview. Discussed position expectations and past experiences and why I would be a fit at Sterling in a support-help desk role. Expectation for a second round interview was given to me by interviewer. Password for a demo account to the software was emailed immediately after interview. Was told the second round would be more technical involving specific software questions.
Spent hours getting to know the software post interview. I sent three emails afterword. One to thank the interviewers immediately. Two more within two weeks of the interview hoping to move the process along. Heard nothing back.
Overall, big waste of time. They expect candidates to study their software with a fake promise of another interview. Very unprofessional, at least get back to your candidates.
