Hi there!
Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I’m sorry to hear that you were left with such a poor impression after going through this process with us - and I'm taking full responsibility for anything that might have felt uncomfortable, or odd.
I completely agree that we’ve been slower than we would have liked in scheduling next steps interviews - and I wholeheartedly apologise for making you wait for almost two weeks ‘in between’ stages. We inform all of our candidates of process timeline at the start, to set expectations - as often this can take weeks, while we give all applicants a fair chance. We’ve done our best to be available for any questions both on Discord and by email, but I do take your point that we should have been more proactive with more frequent check -ins and updates.
I’m wondering however what makes you think we tried to ‘scam’ you or get work done for free.
The test is designed to allow candidates to demonstrate their way of thinking and approaching a problem, and not to create actual output that could be recycled. We do indeed ask to identify a couple of profiles that could fit an active role, and to draft an outreach message for a channel of choice; yet it seems a long shot from saying we’re getting work done for free.
With regards to payment - we double checked after reading your comment, and we're 100% positive that we have contacted every candidate who completed a test assignment with instructions on getting paid. Our finance department also confirmed that all expected invoices have been received and are being processed, so something doesn’t seem to add up to what you're describing.
I’d be really glad to clarify any issues you might have had with payment. You have our contact details, and you're always welcome to reach us personally through Discord or by email, or - if you prefer - you can get in touch with the rest of our team at people-ops@status.im .
Again, thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re keen on learning and getting better at providing an excellent candidate experience, no matter the outcome. We truly appreciate being given the opportunity to see where we could have been better.
