I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Starbucks (Las Vegas, NV) in Mar 2012
Interview
I applied online for a Barista position, and about five days later I received a call from one of the store managers asking me to come in for an interview the following Monday at 9. I arrived and we had a nice short conversation about coffee and why I chose Starbucks, then she asked me the interview questions and she told me to be as descriptive with my answers as possible. She then said she would call me in the coming days to set up a second interview at another Starbucks, and she would then compare notes with the second interviewer and if they thought I was a good match, they would call me. I went to the second interview, and the next day I got a call from a Starbucks in the same district offering me a position.
Interview questions [4]
Question 1
Describe a time when you failed to meet a customers expectations.
Basically a short chat about my availability, my interest in the job, why I want to work there, how familiar I am with coffee and what my past experiences in hospitality were.
Easiest interview I've ever had. I was only asked 3 questions, 'tell me about yourself, what are your strengths & weaknesses, what is your availability?' Lasted about 10 minutes maximum
Thank you for taking the time to write your feedback. We appreciate your input and are happy to hear that you’ve enjoyed the interview process here at Starbucks.
it was great. I answered every question thoughtfully and easily. You have to have two interviews, one with the manager and one with the district manager. It is a in person interview. They ask many questions and will either hire you on the spot or you will have to call to see if you get the position.
