An internship was posted on a few of the local Slack forums in town, as well as through my school. I expressed interest and emailed the CEO directly. I was promptly contacted for an interview with the company, which consisted of a brief interview couple with a half-day coding session. The task was to create an application using any of the technologies with which we were familiar and then to send it to the CEO. We were instructed that we'd receive feedback shortly.

The interview process consisted of a brief interview and a 4 hour coding challenge. Afterward, the CEO reviewed what we did with us and followed up with some resources to help us improve. I've never had an interviewer offer resources to help candidates improve, so that was a very welcoming change.
