I applied online. I interviewed at Sprouts Farmers Market (San Diego, CA)
Interview
I applied online and received a call to interview in person a few days later (Carmel Mtn store). The Assistant Mgr interviewed me first, he referred to my application and asked a few questions, everything seemed fine. When another Mgr arrived it was obvious he had not looked at my application and was not a good listener, I previously worked for a State agency dealing with Workers' Compensation, and he thought I said I left my previous employer because I went on Workers' Compensation. Went downhill from there, he stated I did not qualify for a cashier position, even though I have over 5 years experience as a cashier but more importantly I did not apply for the cashier position. He stated it would be too difficult because it required weighing and entering produce, etc. on a cash register. If he had looked at my application he would have seen I recently graduated with honors with a BBA, I took courses in Calculus and Computer Science, dealing with produce at a cash register can't be that difficult. He stated all he could offer me was a Bagger position to gain work experience. I took enough HR courses to understand he was making his decision based solely on looking at me, a 40+ year old minority female, so before he went any further and could make a discriminatory remark, I politely stated, "Thank you" and asked him to call if he saw another position open up. It was obvious he was not going to hire me.

I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at Sprouts Farmers Market (Los Angeles, CA) in Jul 2016
Interview
The interview process was not what I expected which is a good thing. There was the initial (1) step where you were asked questions like what position are you interested in and what would your current supervisor say about your ability to work with others. The next step was an interview with store managers. They inquired about your knowledge about the position and provided information about the possible schedule. The final step was with the HR people who basically said that they would send an email regarding the background check.
