      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Spreetail (Lincoln, NE) in Oct 2018

      Interview

It was a quick process which was welcoming. I had a phone interview with a Culture employee. She was helpful and answered in a timely manner. A couple of days after the phone interview, I was scheduled a second interview and was given two work samples to complete. The second interview went great. I loved the company and it felt like a great fit. It was great to meet everyone in the interview. Two days after the second interview, I received an email noting the position was no longer hiring. So why waste my time and your employees time if the position on your website wasn't hiring/open? Misleading and very disappointing. I was excited about the company but that is not professional.

      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Spreetail (Lincoln, NE) in Nov 2018

      Interview

This process overall took 3 weeks of my time. Standard recruiter phone interview with easy questions (I went ahead and told her my weakness). Followed up with a planned scheduled in person interview. I was instructed to put together two presentations for the interview at HQ, which I did in great detail. I made sure my presentation was sent 24 hours before my interview and followed up the day before the interview with the recruiter. Everything was going routinely. As I was getting ready to leave for the interview in Sunday's best, I was called by the recruiter and told the job was filled and to not bother to come in. I insisted that I could come anyway to do the presentation and she said it wouldn't make much sense. Then said there were positions available if I was willing to relocate to Austin or Dallas since they are putting all of their marketing there. I politely refused and she said she would try to look into Omaha to see if there was anything available. No response. I am older as well, and looking at other reviews, I feel I was discriminated based on age. I will no longer consider any additional positions within this company as I already know what "Impact" means; work young people to death promising a fun job only to be massively laid off next quarter when sales dip. Your loss Spreetail, older means wiser and more experienced. I've trained hundreds of employees overseas and could have definitely made an IMPACT with your company. I ended up in the end, wasting my time researching the company and putting together a convincing presentation when I could have applied for better employers. Luckily I wasn't on the road to Lincoln! I'd demand some cash to compensate. Never in my life has a company selected an employee before getting through all the interviews.

We appreciate you taking the time to leave this review and share your feedback. First, I want to apologize for the poor experience you had with us in pursuing the Product Visuals Specialist role. Though our hiring needs can shift quickly at the rate we're growing, as they did in this case, it's never our intention to waste a candidate's time and talent. We understand the amount of work that our candidates put into the interview process and regret that you felt undervalued as a result of our changing needs. Thank you, Brett Thome, CEO
