I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Simon-Kucher (Boston, MA) in Feb 2019
Interview
Applied online and was contacted by HR for a phone screen.
Round 1: 30 minute HR phone screen to go over background/experience and interest in the role/SKP
Round 2: 45 minute phone call with a consultant that was 15 minutes behavioral and 30 minute case. Case was how to assess the size of a market for a treatment in Japan and then analyze whether an advertising campaign made financial sense from an ROI perspective.
Round 3: Another 45 minute phone interview that was a mix of behavioral and a case. The case was assessing the market size for a treatment and then analyzing two potential pricing options and which one the was more profitable for the client and why.
Round 4: in-person super day. day started with a 15 minute math test. standard GRE type math questions followed by 3 hour long 1 on 1 interviews. Each interview was a mix of behavioral and a case study. All the cases involved pricing (SKPs area of expertise). Then there was a lunch with a fellow consultant to get a better idea of fit within the firm and insight into the office culture etc. Overall the process was somewhat smoother than other firms I've interviewed with but I believe I was rejected because I didn't have much previous experience with pricing which is a vast majority of their work.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Should a client target a broad or narrow indication for this treatment? Why? How should they price it based on its profile vs competitors?
starts off with behaviorals, really testing if you want to do consulting, then life sciences case, pretty difficult but still manageable. should be practicing casing + behaviorals to do well
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Simon-Kucher (London, England) in Sept 2025
Interview
first round was a online math test game SHL type tests, which wasn't too hard, second round was a HR interview with someone who didn't say much and very short, asked quite generic questions.
I interviewed at Simon-Kucher (New York Mills, NY)
Interview
interview was very good the interviewer was including and asked a case. The case was very doable and guidance provided. The behavioral were simple and the case is important. Try to always have strategic thinking.
