I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Sila Money
Interview
Six rounds of interviews is overkill. Its one if those interview processes where you won't hear from them for 1-2 weeks and then get an email if you can do an interview the next day. I took the multiple rounds and urgent interview requests on their timeline as a bullet dodged. -Recruiter call -Hiring manager -2 panels -2 more manager calls

Question 1
How do you prioritize projects? What's your experience with APIs?
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sila Money (Portland, OR) in Oct 2021
Interview
Overall a positive experience. From the initial recruiter screening call to the offer/rejection it felt like a long wait (4 weeks) but I could tell they were really sincere about not only wanting to make sure you the potential candidate had the right skills for the job but that they were also a good culture fit.
It felt very much like they wanted me to "interview" them as much as they were interviewing me.

Question 1
Code Challenge: 4 parts
- 1 basic coding "find the longest word" type challenge
- 2 definition based questions
- 2 multiple choice (identify the language) questions
- 1 figure out what the error is here
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Sila Money (Irvine, CA) in Apr 2022
Interview
1st - Interview Phone Call Technical
2nd - Coder Byte Assessment
3rd - Interview mostly behavioral and tech you worked with. Honestly thought interview was going well, but when they asked if I had questions. I stated I had none and they were bothered by it.
Seems like a small startup that will overwork you to death and make you wear many hats. Nevertheless, I passed all the technical stuff . They also want you to dig into their products, learn them, and use the API (keep in mind you don't work for them yet - boomer mentality). Which I don't agree with, because I'm already busy with a job and other things that matter more outside of work. Don't think they value work-life balance.
End of the day most people just want a paycheck and do their jobs. They don't care about you, your company, and culture. It comes down to money!
- Hiring process is a joke
