I didn't get an invitation for an interview. However, I did receive a "gift" from Siemens in form of a link where I could, of course only if I wanted, do a test on my personal strengths and personality. It was pointed out that this was optional, and would not influence the application process in any way.
As I was on vacation, and the link led to a third party that wanted quite some data from me, I wasn't interest in taking part.
About 2 weeks later I hadn't heard from anyone about the application, and found no progress notifications when I checked the application system. I took time out on my desktop computer to check the "gift" again and gave in and did the test, providing said 3rd party with a load of data, all for the sake of am evaluation that, as was pointed out, depends on various factors and can change in a couple of days, all while using the data to refine their analysis product.
The very next day after taking this completely optional 3rd party data grabber gift provided by Siemens, I got a rejection mail from Siemens.
I have no issue with doing personality tests during the interviewing process. I have an issue with having a company quite obviously skimming money through providing a 3rd party with data from hopeful applicants for jobs that probably aren't even really in existence.
