Interview
Applied early Q1 2020 via Shopee Malaysia’s company website, received an email from the HR associate approximately 5 weeks later.
(1) Screening Interview by HR
This session was carried out via phone interview, took around 45 mins+, the representative appeared friendly, explained about the company culture, but could not elaborate on the job scope nor the day-to-day activities of the required position
(2) Interview with the Interim Team Lead
The interview session was cancelled 15 minutes before the interview, postponed to the following week. Additionally, this was very much related to pre-sales job and getting sellers in rather than project management. There were no questions on project management either.
Just a word of advise to anyone who intends to join this team, please withhold information such as last-drawn payslips, your private information, if any.
Please be cautious of companies as such fishing for industry related data. The advises from my acquainted senior managers are that: (1) do not give any info, on payslips, even after they claimed they are going to hire you (2) take some time to read up the reviews of the company

Interview
First round - HR surprise phone call and straight into experience question without even explaining the role until I asked.
Second round - with two managers. One manager introduced himself and the other did not. Ask me to introduce myself and went straight into one situational question. They dive deep into the question but in total lasted 20mins. Bad experience because they did not care about my skillsets and did not bother to ask about my experiences and what I can bring to the company. Instead kept asking me questions about my answers. In reality they have an answer they want and do not accept any other accepts. This tells you a lot of Shopee. Traditional chinaman who do not cares about someone who gave blood and sweat to their role. When asked about training and career prospects, they shy away from it and said 'on-the-job' training which is basically you learn and fall by yourself.
