Email contact on 12/2/15 from HR Director: here are three roles we are looking to fill, and "we really like the career growth and experience in your profile". I applied for the Inside Sales Manager (lead / supvr position), and was contacted the next day and scheduled a 12/4 phone interview with the hiring manager. Hiring manager called on time, and within 5 mins was letting me know that I'm not what he's looking for in an ISM, but that he likes my experience and demeanor, and would like me to consider an Account Executive (indv contributor) role. We spoke some more, I agreed to pursue AE, and he asked me if we can meet in Shipwire's Sunnyvale office while he's in town the week of 7-December. I confirmed for an in-person interview on 12/9, it was a rushed 35-40 minutes, and the Director of Global Sales wanted me to meet with one other person. I confirmed for a 12/18 onsite with their Director of Sales - another quick 35-40 minute session. Just to be clear: I closed for the job during both onsite interviews, and even made sure to eliminate or reduce and questions or doubts on my abilities to do the job; both times, neither had any further questions or doubts. On Monday 12/21, I receive a rejection email from Shipwire HR - for the Inside Sales Manager, but of course, no reference to the Account Executive position. Just make CRYSTAL CLEAR what role you're interviewers are evaluating you for.
