      Python Developer Interview

      25 May 2020
      Anonymous employee
      Eindhoven
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Sendcloud (Eindhoven) in Apr 2020

      Interview

First, I had a 1 hour interview with the team Lead and a senior developer. In this interview we talked about my understanding of the company's business model, my previous experiences, and the technology stack that is used within the team. The conversation was very fluid and with plenty of space to ask questions. At the end of the talk I was asked if I was OK with doing a medium-size technical assignment (around 20 hours of coding, with a 1 month deadline) as part of the selection process, which I was. The next day, I received an email saying that I had been approved in the interview and that the next step was the aforementioned technical assignment. Before I received the instructions for that, I had a call with the talent magician (the person who had sought me for the position) about how the interview had gone and if I had any additional questions at that time. About 10 days after completing the technical assignment a second (shorter, 30 minutes) interview was scheduled with the team Lead and the company's CTO. In that talk we explored a little bit more about my experiences, how they fit within the role, and the company's current stance. Moreover, we reviewed my implementation of the assignment. At the end of the talk I was given space to ask questions and was told I would receive a proposal on that same day. Indeed I received the proposal and accepted it. Throughout the entire process, everything that had to be scheduled was very flexible, with more than one proposed date/time and the option of proposing another one, if none suited me. Moreover, everyone was always eager to answer questions and make the process as transparent as it can be.

      Python Developer Interview

      11 Aug 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Eindhoven
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sendcloud (Eindhoven) in Jul 2020

      Interview

Applied via Linkedin. The company seemed to be a good place to work and I matched with more than 90% of the requirements - which is rare considering the average vacancies' descriptions. The recruiter sent me an e-mail to schedule an interview. On the appointed day she asked to talk earlier and I agreed. She was in a hurry and we had like five minutes to talk. It was a very quick conversation and we talked a little about my previous experiences. For my surprise they said yes and I moved to the next step. The second interview was with two developers - a man and a woman, both from different countries which shows that they care about diversity in the company. It was a very good and informal talk about my previous experiences, the problem that they usually face there with their monolith and their journey to become more scalable. I've already worked with exactly the same problem before so we had a lot to talk about. They asked some specific questions about my experiences and asked how would I solve some problems that they had to solve in the past. I could answer all of their questions and in general I think it was a very good interview. It was mentioned that the next steps would be a tech test to solve in two weeks with just a backend (they said that in the past they asked frontend as well but they realised that they don't have to code front end most part of the time so they don't ask for front anymore - what I think it's pretty honest) and then a final talk with a lead and CTO. They took a week to give me an answer. I could imagine it would be "no" - usually when companies don't schedule the next interview quickly the answer is no. They only said that preferred not to move forward for no especial reason.
