Interview
After applying online, I was sent a more detailed questionnaire to fill out about my experience managing content and copy. I was then invited to interview with someone from HR. The interview took a while to schedule and was conducted with someone who spoke English as a second language, so communication was challenging at times. After that interview, I was sent an assignment to be completed within 3 business days. The assignment was to review an email, identify all the mistakes, and then list 2 of the most problematic and describe how I would fix them. I received the assignment on a Sunday and turned it in on Tuesday. Then I heard nothing for a full week, then got an email saying "This role has been closed, and we are no longer interviewing candidates. Today our team made an offer, and the candidate accepted it." It was very frustrating to have spent time working on a specialized assignment to not even get the courtesy of an interview with someone beyond HR. The communication was slow and not transparent and I didn't feel my time and expertise were respected.

Interview
The hiring process at Semrush was exceptionally clear and well organised. I particularly appreciated how they outlined the response times for each stage, demonstrating a high level of consideration, empathy, and respect for the professionals applying.
In my case, the process with Kateryna S. has been consistently friendly and approachable, something I value deeply.

Why would you choose Semrush as the company you want to work for?
I had a recruiter interview first, then 3 rounds of interviews with the team including a case presentation to a couple of VPs. The whole process was very smooth from the start and the interviewing process wasn't very difficult,. What was really nice about the process is how smooth it was all thanks to the recruiter, Mahmoud.
He was very friendly, made me very relaxed in my interview and his attitude is just very positive. He explained everything perfectly and communicated well with me throughout the whole process.
I didn't get the job in the end, but the process was one of the best I've had in years and all thanks to him. I wish more recruiters are on his level of communication and professionalism.
