      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      18 Mar 2025
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

      I interviewed at SemanticBits

      Interview

1st interview was a phone interview with a manager. He will likely ask you some general 'get to know you' questions and technical screening questions. There were 2 coding exercises with their developers, one front end and one backend.

      Reston, VA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at SemanticBits (Reston, VA)

      Interview

I think they just want to waste your time. I went through the entire process and I would highly not recommend this company. They will never give you an offer even if you finish passing the technical challenges. WORST Interview experience I ever had. Those other accepted offers review by engineers here are fake. DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME HERE

Thank you for your feedback and your interest in working for SemanticBits. We assure you that our process is not a waste of time, as it allows us both to determine if it is the right fit. We were obviously impressed by your skills. However, technical challenges, which are used by many companies, are not a matter of pass or fail. They help employers understand a candidate’s skill level, approach to problem solving, temperament, and thought process. With our highly challenging projects, we aim to recruit the most talented team members that also fit well to grow within our company. While we ultimately went with another candidate, we hope that you find a home for your talents.

      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      10 Dec 2020
      Anonymous employee
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at SemanticBits in Jul 2020

      Interview

I had an initial screening with someone from HR. They scheduled a technical interview for a couple days later. The technical interview/code code challenge was with two engineers. It was very relaxed and collaborative, much like an actual working situation. Much better than that typical stressful, put-you-on-the-spot interview. I had an offer a few days after that, which I accepted.
