Interview
The entire process took about four weeks. First initial phone call, HR asked about my past work as a Union Organizer, then proceeded with questions. Had a Zoom interview with the Director and HR coordinator. In the Zoom interview, I was able to express who I was and my past in the labor movement. Took the opportunity to discuss how the current nature of the State of California is affecting state workers. After this interview, the Employer ran reference checks within two weeks of the Zoom interview, I was given an offer. I accepted.

Interview
Three rounds of interviews (hr, management and member leaders, and president/chief of staff). As long as you have a heart for building and developing the membership, and you know a thing or two about contract enforcement/interpretation, you’re golden.
