I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sears (San Francisco, CA) in Jun 2015
Interview
Long process with many parts. I applied online after a recommendation. After applying, I was emailed to take a personality quiz. Pretty standard, the questions were all to see how one navigates in different work situations with colleagues and customers. A few days later I was emailed by a recruiter for a phone screening/interview. The questions (as with all the questions in the interview) are all behavioral. "Tell me about a time when...?" Very easy to prepare for, prep yourself by brainstorming all times at work that you had to deal with a "difficult situation, customer, co-work etc", worked/directed a major project, time you made a mistake. Basically, just think of all your career highs AND lows moments, and you'll nail it. A few days later, I received another email from the recruiter to attend an in person interview in three weeks in SF (you can choose your location Chicago or SF when you apply). The in person interview was two 2:1 interviews, a math test (you receive a study guide when you're invited to the interview), and a group case study where you are given ten minutes to read over your own case study then two minutes each to present it to the group. That for me was the most difficult part of the interview, as it was the most unusual. I think the objective is to see how well you work with others, how well you understand the business, and how you're able to articulate yourself in a buying environment. Everyone that I came into contact with from top to bottom of the process were extremely friendly and welcoming which makes you very comfortable in an interview environment (pro and con in my opinion).
I applied online. I interviewed at Sears (Hoffman Estates, IL)
Interview
I had applied online. Was contacted to set up a time to have a phone interview. Then was moved forward to the next round. They scheduled a flight to their headquarter office in Hoffman Estates. We were given a tour of the facitlity. Took a written exam. There were 2 rounds of 2:1 interviews and lastly a group project where a panel evaluated how you worked together in a group and fought for more funding for your department.

The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at Sears (San Francisco, CA)
Interview
Applied online, received phone interview ( lots of behavioral questions ), online math test, then got in-person group interview invite. Group interview involved two separate interview wih buyers and HR. They really want to gauge your interest and fit for the program. There will be a lot of " tell me a time when you.." Types of questions. You will also visit a Sears store and answer a questionnaire. The interviewers will ask you about that visit during that interview. Afterwards, you will complete a simple math test. Lastly, you will do a case study of which you will come together as a group to pick an investment of your choice to invest in. Advice: Be logical, be able to organize your thoughts on pros and cons of each investment and communicate them to your team.
