This process involved three interviews. 1) Virtual interview (1 hour) with 5 members of SLC staff, 2) In person interview (5 hours) that included a tour, lunch, and 2nd formal interview, 3) Final interview with Executive Director. The ED checked all of my references including current supervisor and during 3rd interview, offered the position. Formal offer arrived in my inbox late the next day. I asked a few clarifying questions that I had only spoken to the ED about and slight salary and vacation accrual increases. The next day, ED informs be that they are no longer extending the offer and said that he would follow up on the following work day. The following work day, ED informs me that the offer is fully revoked and that they will not be proceeding. The process was terrible and I was lead on the whole time. The organization seems disorganized, has lost many valuable employees since Jan 2023, and is not trustworthy. If you are a true professional, steer clear of this org. They do not have your interests at heart. Since this experience, I have received feedback from MANY professional contacts that the Santa Lucia Conservancy is not a good environment, and after being treated with zero respect through a long interview process, I share the sentiment.
