I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Salsify (Lisbon, Lisbon District) in Dec 2023
Interview
I want to express how unhappy I am with Salsify hiring process for the senior software engineer role.
I had to wait two weeks for a response after submitting my application. I then scheduled a conversation with a HR, then I got an email to schedule a call with a manager, but I haven't heard anything for the past three weeks.
I understand delays happen, but this lack of communication reflects poorly on Salsify professionalism and leaves candidates feeling undervalued. So be careful before applying!!!
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Can you ell me about yourself(experience, past projects)?
Thank you for sharing this feedback. One of our core tenants of candidate experience is appropriately managing expectations. It seems that we have not done a good job of managing your expectations as you progressed through the interview process. We are reviewing our processes internally to ensure we can move faster as well as better communicate the hiring timeframe to candidates going forward.
First there was a meeting with talent acquisition, which was a good experience, then an interview with hiring manager, then a tech assessment was provided, after some questions related to the exercise, the hiring manager redirected the question to a dev, no answer was given, I ended up completing the exercise and delivering it even though no clarification was provided. They took 3 weeks to answer and didn't gave any feedback regarding the tech assessment which took me 1 working day to complete. More respect should be given to the interviewee

Question 1
Some questions about my path and technologies I worked with and also cultural fit check. Tech assessment was provided.
I applied through other source. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Salsify (Boston, MA) in Jan 2019
Interview
I was recruited directly via an engineering manager. I did a coding submission first, and about a couple days later was scheduled with an onsite interview - a 4 hour affair spanning multiple interview sessions. A couple interviewers asked me if I needed water or a bathroom break, which was nice, but I held my own. One part was more behavioral, the rest technical. Although the interview was tough, the technical questions really felt like collaborative problems where it was a constant back and forth conversation, adding additional requirements, etc. I really enjoyed thinking about the solutions, and there wasn't too much coding.
