Smooth- mostly behavioral and situational walk-thru questions.
How would you go about- etc. How does your experience align?
It was not too technical- but you had to explain your projects and etc.

The interview was easy and the interviewers were very kind. It felt as if I already knew them, I have been through multiple and this was one of the easiest interviews I have had.

Thank you for taking the time to share this. We want every candidate to feel comfortable and respected in the process, and we're glad that came through. Welcome to the team!
So many red flags…Interviewed with the commissioning lead and HR. They communicated their expectations was 12 hours per day, 6 days per week with no paid overtime under the explanation that it’s a good “learning opportunity” and you can expense meals haha. When questioned why overtime is not paid they responded they are not required to pay overtime by law….80% of the engineering firms I interviewed with either pay overtime or allow some sort of time in lieu policy. The role sounded quite exploitative to me, I’m sure they will find some candidates who are desperate enough to accept those horrific working conditions but it’s not a good look for the company expecting employees to work 72 hour weeks with no additional compensation. Normal standard work week is 37.5 hours so they’re essentially hiring one person to do the job of two people.
Suffice to say I withdrew my application for the role.
We’re sorry that this was your experience. Our goal in the interview process is to be clear and upfront about the realities of the role so candidates can assess fit early.
Commissioning work is project‑based and can involve extended hours during certain phases, depending on client needs and site conditions. These expectations are discussed during interviews so there are no surprises. Compensation structures, including overtime eligibility, are defined by the role and aligned with applicable regulations.
While this position wasn’t the right match for you, we appreciate the time you spent speaking with our team and wish you the best in your next opportunity.
