      I interviewed at SafeNow

      Interview

The interview process for this position at SafeNow was poorly arranged and demonstrated a lack of professionalism. My only contact with the company was a single email from a designer, Nina, who assigned three design tasks—adjusting a poster, modifying two pitch deck slides, and creating eight Instagram images. While I do not object to design tasks as part of an interview process, there were serious issues with how this process was structured. Firstly, the company showed no interest in engaging with me through a phone call, video chat, or any other form of dialogue to provide context on their business model or design expectations. A proper interview should involve mutual communication to clarify the role, objectives, and the company's needs from a designer. Instead, they sent a task request without any opportunity to discuss the work or ask meaningful questions. Secondly, after submitting the design work, I received a simple rejection email with no feedback. Providing constructive feedback is essential, especially when candidates invest time and effort in completing assignments. This lack of communication, context, and transparency made this one of the worst interview experiences I have had in recent years. The time investment required for the tasks was significant, and yet, the process felt transactional and dismissive of my expertise and efforts.

      Question 1

No questions were asked, just 3 design tasks were requested. Felt like an exploitation for free design work instead of a proper interview process.
