      Marketing Coordinator Interview

      25 Sept 2025
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at STR Group in Sept 2025

      Interview

Teams interview lasted 8 minutes, out of which most of the questions were personal and only 1-2 were about the job. I was only informed it would be recorded during the interview. I was asked about my partner, where I lived before and went to school, where my partner works, whether I drive and why I don't drive a car. The interviewer was surprised I spoke good English, because "judging by my name", he expected I would have a strong accent. At the end, I was told I am being taken to second round, but in two days, I received a rejection email. I did not like the interviewer being overly focused on my personal life and circumstances rather than my skills and experience, he made me feel uncomfortable. I would recommend avoiding this company; it seems their internal culture is problematic and disorganised.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your experience didn’t meet your expectations. The initial teams interview is designed to be a short, first-stage conversation to assess general suitability before moving forward to a full face-to-face interview. During this stage, we ask a few practical questions related to the role requirements for example, this position required a driver, which is why questions around driving and relocation were included. To clarify, you were informed that the interviewer would discuss your application with the Marketing Director and come back to you with an update, not that you had progressed to a second stage. At STR Group, we value professionalism, fairness, and inclusivity in our recruitment process. Unfortunately, on this occasion, we decided not to move forward, but we appreciate your time and interest and wish you every success in your future career.
