Writing test is required. Would be good to prepare portfolio too and understanding the publication that you are keen on joining well. Know the audience as well as the content.

Rather smooth sailing, HR was prompt in replies. Interview asked rather basic stuff: why are you leaving and how can you contribute to the team. Hiring managers were also in the call, and they posed questions that were stricter and more relevant to the role.
