      Data Analyst Interview

      9 Jun 2026
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at SAFCO

      Interview

Had a very disappointing interview experience. I was contacted by the CFO for what was presented as a 15-minute discussion about the role. However, when I joined the Teams meeting, the CFO was not present, and I was instead met by someone I had no clue Id be speaking with. Rather than discussing the position, expectations, team, or company, the conversation went directly into rapid technical questions about SQL, Excel, and financial statements. I have no issue with technical screening or skills-based questions, but the structure of the call did not match what had been communicated to me beforehand. When a candidate is told to expect a brief discussion about the role and is instead placed into an unannounced technical interview with a different person, it creates a poor candidate experience and comes across as disorganized and unprofessional. Obviously ghosted, didnt expect anything else from a company that lacks any ounce of professionalism. Looking from their reviews, this isnt a place Id want to work for anyways.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are sorry to hear that your experience did not meet your expectations. For this particular opportunity, candidates were initially contacted through LinkedIn to gauge interest in the role. As part of our process, selected candidates were then scheduled to speak with a member of the team who possesses direct knowledge of the position and its day-to-day responsibilities. Candidates were advised in advance regarding the individual they would be meeting with and that the discussion would include an assessment of relevant skills and experience. That said, we recognize that interview experiences can be perceived differently, and we regret that our process did not align with your expectations. We continuously review our recruiting practices and candidate communications to ensure they are clear, professional, and respectful of every applicant's time. We interviewed more than 170 candidates for the opportunity, and are just wrapping up our recruitment efforts at this time. We appreciate your interest in SAFCO and wish you success in your career search.
