First round was a video hookup with the team, they were pretty easygoing and friendly. A couple of basic questions on JS. Second round was a take home assignment, which takes about an evening to complete. Third round I got quizzed on the assignment, some more questions, all pretty relaxed. At the conclusion of the technical rounds a follow up with HR was organised. The only apparent purpose of this chat is to confirm your expected salary. What I found dishonest is they would not provide a range, they sort of force you to play this guessing game. And if you bid too high, they don't even bother to bargain with you. Rather than play these games it would be better to be up front with candidates about what they can offer. The whole process however is quite time consuming, and in the end, after progressing through all these rounds I was left hanging, with no official outcome. When candidates invest significant time into the interview process, the bare minimum behaviour for organisations is to let candidates know when they are out of consideration.
