I applied through the online portal. Uploaded resume and cover letter. Next day I had an email from a talent acquisition specialist to schedule a phone interview. The phone interview went well. Took about 30 minutes to discuss my current position, what I was looking for and gauge my experiences. The interviewer said that she would recommend that the Hiring manager speak with me. However, the Hiring Manager declined citing a gap in my experience. They said that they were looking for someone with more lean manufacturing experience. I guess I didn't convey my experience well enough.
The process sounded like 3 steps- first phone interview with specialist, then phone interview with hiring manager. Then there would have been an on-site. Don't know if there were any other steps beyond that.
