      Mortgage Loan Officer Interview

      5 May 2017
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Rocket in Apr 2017

      Interview

I applied online, about a week and a half later I received a call from a recruiter. She was very bubbly and eager to speak to me. We scheduled a phone interview for the following day. She called right on time. Again she was quite bubbly and excited. I could tell she was reading from a script as and I even heard her turn a page. She was very excited and positive however it seemed fake and forced. She asked me a handful of generic questions (added below). Then I asked her some questions based off of my readings from glassdoor. I asked about the work/life balance and the actual hours I would be required to put in. She said about 50-60 possibly higher. She then told me this job isn't for everyone. She said she used to do this job and she paid off her student loans because she made so much money. I proceeded to ask her why she still isn't doing the job....she stumbled and then said uhhh I started a family and needed to be home more. Ultimately she did not seem that well educated and seemed to be making up things as she went through the interview. I was offered a job on that call, told I would receive an email with a credit check link then a local recruiter would contact me from the Scottsdale office. I chose to decline the offer as I would not like to work 70 hours a week which all of these reviews say.

Didn't make it that far because it didn't align with work life balance. they require you a minimum of 50-55 hours a week, and it was non-negotiable. makes sense for some, but not myself

      Interview

Very thorough but aligned with their vision. I am excited to join a team with experience and passion for helping families succeed with their mortgage needs. I had a total of 4 interviews which were all over the phone and one through Zoom. My position is remote with ability to go into the office but required to do most of my work out in the field.
