I applied through other source. I interviewed at Robinhood (New York, NY) in Jan 2026
Interview
Really smooth overall process, great communication & tech. Second round system design interview did not go well because of poor communication with the interviewer: very unclear direction; difficult to understand (audibly); contradictory answers to questions (including about constraints and areas of focus); facilitated and encouraged time-wasting on less important points; also unclear whether visuals mattered more or less than talking through the problem. The question was not very difficult, but it was a strictly timed assessment that started about 12 minutes into the allotted 50 or 60 minutes. The prompt was vague, and I was not able to completely answer all of the technical questions he seemed to be looking for.
I applied online. I interviewed at Robinhood (Toronto, ON) in Jan 2026
Interview
HR reached out and quickly discuss about experience. 1 round of system design after the HR call, there should be a coding round and behavior round after that. Scheduling the SD wasn't that smooth, took more than 2 weeks to schedule for the first technical interview. HR was friendly and helpful, but the interviewer was late for interview, answered all questions but didn't get feedback
I applied online. The process took 4 months. I interviewed at Robinhood (New York, NY) in Dec 2022
Interview
Initially applied for a backend role, had 1 technical screen and then 3 interviews for the onsite consistenting of a system design, project deep dive, and coding question. I passed, but unfortunately no Staff level backend roles were available. A frontend staff role eventually opened and I did 2 interviews consisting of a project coding interview and a frontend architecture interview. I then received an offer after this an accepted.

Question 1
NDA, but nothing crazy. For the frontend project interview there is a prebuilt mini app and you have to add a feature within an hour.
