I applied in-person. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Robert Half (Los Angeles, CA) in May 2011
Interview
Initial interview is just to get you into their system. Robert Half has various divisions to meet different industry sectors. However they run each like their lowest level temp agency OfficeTeam. I'm a senior level Project Manager and Enterprise Architect in the IT world. So your initial interview maybe with someone who is completely clueless about the industry or any technical abilities. They are simply looking for people that have the right words on their resume to add to their database and for possible upcoming placements. If the is a real project or placement match then you should expect the real technical questions based upon the perceived needs of the client more often than not by the more knowledgable client. This is true for both contract and for placement hire.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
The questions are based on the real or dummy ad you applied for and your resume. They are looking for how you carry your self and if they thinks you have any professional skills both soft and hard. The usuall recruter doesn't know what the actual technical terms mean. Some of them have a gist but by no means mastery. They will try to get all the verifiable information from the application forms just like a temp agency.
Good rapport with the interviewer, but really hard to read. Lack of direction and expectation in terms of the role, which makes it very hard to genuinely match the conversation. There was no response after the interview.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Robert Half (Washington, DC) in Feb 2022
Interview
Pretty quick, took about a week or so, they're personable and understanding. Just be yourself and answer questions using STAR format and you'll be golden. I think their process is pretty holistic, if you have a skillset to offer their client-base.
