I applied online. I interviewed at Robert Half (Arlington, VA) in Jun 2019
Interview
I am an independent consultant, this was one of the worst experiences with a staffing firm. First, there was no follow-up. Second, the recruiter was condescending and rude. After an initial conversation where I made clear what my rate was after the client said their ceiling was $25/hour less than my lowest rate, she implied that I didn't know what I was talking about and that my rate was way above market. I left feeling disrespected by the consultant.
Interview process was easy and straightforward. It is mostly about understanding your background to know where to place you and which assignments you might be a good fit for. There was a phone screening first then an interview.

Interview
First interview to work for Robert Half was simple and smooth. The recruiter gather my information and said will be in touch. I sent a follow up email and I got crickets. 3 weeks later the direct hire department reached me out and said your profile and assessment look good, I don’t know why we didn’t hire you.
