Good communication from the recruiting team during the process, the scheduling was seamless and the team provided updates throughout the process. Recruiting team was thorough and enjoyed speaking with them. They provided great background information on the role.

Question 1
Asked about background, skills, projects, and then a scenario walk-through.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Rippling (San Francisco, CA) in Sept 2023
Interview
Interviewed for one role and then eventually ended up being suggested for another role that had opened up after waiting weeks to hear back about the first one. I read the reviews here/elsewhere so was skeptical given their reputation (Zenefits 2.0 vibes). However, I did enjoy the hiring manager and skip level interviewing me a lot. The overall process did feel sloppy though. The assignment they gave me to work on was vague, the clarification that I got did not seem to be made clear to others on my interview panel who had me skip through most of my presentation. The interview questions were pretty typical, maybe even too typical and focused on the tactics rather than the higher level strategy of how the role would impact the business. That was a red flag to me but it was overall an okay experience. What left a bit of a sour taste in my mouth was that I went through multiple rounds of interviews and spent half a day in person presenting a thoughtful presentation only to get a generic 2-3 sentence reject email a few days later. It gave me the ick and kind of validated their reputation as an employer. All of the individuals were great people but this experience overall was disappointing.
