I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Retain.ai (San Francisco, CA) in Apr 2019
Interview
Applied on A-List. Had a phone screen for an hour, then an onsite all afternoon from 1pm-5pm (then joined team dinner).
Questions were lighter on algos, heavier on system design and culture fit.
I applied through other source. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Retain.ai (San Francisco, CA) in Nov 2019
Interview
I had a phone-coding interview via the interviewing.io platform for about an hour. Then I was reached out by the co-founder, whom I then eventually had a phone technical/behavioral/system design interview for about an hour. After that, I was asked to design a system, and present it during an on-site. The onsite was about 3-4 hours including my presentation. The questions where behavioral, technical (whiteboard coding), and systems design.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Overall, a good balance of coding, systems design and behavioral questions.
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Retain.ai in Dec 2017
Interview
It started off as a positive experience. But it went downhill as interview process lost structure.
Starts with a 15 minute phone call. Then a HackerRank and a design question on the phone. After that a non technical session with CEO. And then probably on-site.
There is no solid feedback or transparency in the process.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
HackerRank with
1. Algorithm question (leetcode easy)
2. Database question (basic)
3/4. Descriptive question
A design question on phone.
A non tech round with CEO.
And then any number of interview as they like. No transparency / structure.
