I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Relativity Space (New York, NY)
Interview
First interview was a 30 minute call, quick get to know you followed by a 7 question quiz, 5 of which you have to get right to be considered for a second interview. Second interview was a zoom call with a team lead that was mostly content based related to plumbing diagrams and systems. I was under the impression the interview went well then did not hear from anyone after a week and a half. Reached out to HR and the interviewer and was sent a canned "thanks for you time" no-reply email the next day. I reached out to the HR contact to ask what I could have improved on for future interviews and never received a response.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
Rank these metals in terms of thermal conductivity. [stainless steel, Aluminum, Copper]
With a visual plumbing diagram
draw a graph of the pressure and temperature in the system static and then the pressure and temperature in just the ullage of the fuel tank during the entirety of a test fire.

Interview
I had an email describing the role, and then a one-on-one Teams meeting with a whiteboard, where I went deep into my projects and answered technical problems related to solid mechanics, fluids, or thermodynamics.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Explain the thermodynamic process of evaporating a full glass of water on a stove.
I applied online. I interviewed at Relativity Space (Stennis Space Center, MS) in May 2026
Interview
1 on 1 interview with a lead engineer. Asked in technical depth about projects. Asked to choose two subjects from solids, fluids, thermo, heat transfer to be asked questions on. Be ready to defend your answers with equations and answer why you decided to answer that why.

Question 1
A large basin is filled with water. It leads down to a sealed container. How high will the water in the container get? Another variation where the height difference between the two containers gets smaller. And then another variation where the container volume gets halved.

Interview
Asked me to talk about any one of my technical projects on my resume and then asked difficult follow up questions about it. You need to have all your basic physics down pat, because I forgot some of the basics and it made the interview very difficult. They also asked two technical questions unrelated to the project.

Question 1
How can I found out how long it will take for an entire pot of water to boil?
