I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Regent, L.P. (Los Angeles, CA) in Mar 2025
Interview
My interview process at Regent was beyond unconventional. The chairman reached out to me on LinkedIn because he really liked my background. I followed up with him and was then contacted by their in house recruiter/HR person. Our intro call went well, and I was invited onsite to meet with the entire team. Basically met with the entire investment team for 4 hours at the BH office and was asked when could I start. I thought this interview process was too easy and that something was up. I had a few more follow up calls with HR person and the chairman just to iron out some details and eventually got a verbal offer, which came in higher than I expected. I was actually surprised all things considered. After the verbal offer, they went ghost mode (similar to the review below this) and eventually rug pulled the offer 5 days later. Whole process was weird. Firm is sketch.
FWIF - founding principals all left. There is a lawsuit available online.

Question 1
Pretty basic interview questions. Walked them through my resume and discussed how my experience could translate to the role.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Regent, L.P. (Los Angeles, CA)
Interview
Fairly standard (albeit drawn-out) interview process. From December - February, I spoke 1:1 with 4 members of the team who primarily asked "fit" questions, with 1 interview focused on the basic technical questions. After the first phone screenings, I completed a case study which consisted of an LBO and memo highlighting the business overview, and risks and merits of the deal. After completing the case study, I was invited to HQ to speak with the team. The team was friendly and hard-working, and I was prepared to accept an offer if it came. This is where the things changed drastically. After a few more weeks, I received a verbal offer for the position, and when I countered on the salary, they said they would get back to me. After 3 days of follow-up with HR and no response each day, they rescinded the offer entirely. After extending an offer on a Monday, the offer was rescinded by Friday with no explanation. Proceed with caution when interviewing here, have backup options, and do not put in your 2 weeks until signing a contract. A verbal offer means nothing here.

Question 1
Q: Walk me through deals you worked on.
Q: Walk me through the LBO you put together.
Q: Why do you want to join Regent?
To put it lightly, this was an incredibly disorganized and unprofessional hiring process from start to finish. It took over 3 weeks from final interview to confirm i got the job.
