The interview consists of 3 rounds: HR screening, Meeting with Hiring manager and Panel interview (~10 people which includes Senior Director, Director, Managers , Principal scientist) (2days). After the panel interview they asked for my references and after that I didn't hear back from them for 3 weeks. Usually when an employer asks for reference from a candidate that means they will be giving them an offer. When I asked for an update the HR responded that the VP of the formulation team wants to meet you. VP joined 15 mins late for a 30 minutes meeting. After few weeks I was send a generic rejection email. I do know internally the whole team wanted to go ahead with me but VP decided, I was not the right candidate. I also knew the other candidate they interviewed for the same role and neither the other person was given an offer. If VP was the decision maker they should have included him in the initial screening rather than bring him last after the whole process and wasting my time.
