Redpanda Data interview questions

Very lovely people. Eve was extremely personable and I like how Bruce has structures his interviews. While I wasn't able to continue the process (I totally choked in my interview but was told my answers were thoughtful) I leave with extremely high opinions of the company and the people that I met. I was kindly texted within a few days that I wouldn't be moving forward.

Recruiter call, then a C++-specific interview where I was asked about class constructors and move semantics, then a coding interview. I was told by the recruiter that all interviews would be in C++ so that was fine... except the coding interview required the use of an obscure C function (not C++, C), which I didn't know so naturally they passed on me. Left a bad taste in my mouth, the interview seemed more like they were testing if I knew that specific function instead of my actual coding abilities. Sad, it seems like a good place to work, but I'm hesitant to go through that again.
