I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at RealSelf (Seattle, WA) in Jun 2016
Interview
The process took ~4 weeks and included multiple rounds. First there was a phone screening. Next they provided a data analysis case with a few basic questions that you need to complete in 12 hours. After that there were two telephonic interviews, one with the hiring manager and the other with a team member. The questions were technical in nature and tested your SQL knowledge and statistical understanding. One of the guys I interviewed with was a PhD in Maths and he went quite in-depth with the statistical concepts and machine learning stuff, which I found weird because I was interviewing for the Business Analyst position and not the Data Scientist position. There was also a guesstimation type of question.
Honestly, after the second technical interview I thought I had blown my chance but I still got invited on-site to their Seattle office for the all-day loop. The on-site interview consisted of meeting with 6 people in the span of 4 hours. A lot of the questions were repetitive and you get the feeling that your being tested for your patience and how you react to stressful situations rather than actually them getting to know you as a person. At the end of it I was just happy to be done.
The whole interview process, although seamless, is designed to be as selective as possible. For their part, everyone that I met with was extremely friendly and welcoming and made an effort to make me feel as comfortable as possible.

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at RealSelf (Seattle, WA) in Sept 2019
Interview
I had applied to RealSelf via Glassdoor and, after about a week or so, I received an email from RealSelf with an invitation for an assessment (so I hadn't had a phone screen at all).
This assessment was Excel/Google Sheets-based with three distinct blocks - SQL, data distribution, and kind of A/B test evaluation. An applicant should spend no more than 2 hours on this assessment and send it back to RealSelf via the provided link within 24 hours after downloading the test.
Although I didn't get an offer, I'd like to thank my recruiter, Leslie Mills, anyway. The communication with her was a breeze; she has clarified all my questions, even silly ones, and overall, it was one of the most emphatic and kind recruiters I've ever worked with. Keep on, Leslie!
