I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Rand Construction (Alexandria, VA) in Jan 2007
Interview
Found out about the job on craigslist and then was called the next day by the only person doing hr in the company. she interviewed me the following day (99 percent a personality test) for 30 minutes, i met with a few other senior project managers in the company, who asked me a few questions with little interest in my answers. and i received a job offer.
if you interview here, just look good, smile wide and swear you're a hard worker. if you like to drink, you'll love the culture.
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
what do you like about construction? why do you think you'd like it?
Easy interview with office director who shared a little about himself as well as the company. Additionally wanted to get to know me and my interests. Had one virtual interview and one in-person interview.
I applied online. I interviewed at Rand Construction
Interview
Applied online, and got an interview a week later. Interview itself was terrible, all three interviewers seemed completely disinterested in what they were doing. Asked me 0 questions and felt a very negative energy. Only one interviewer spoke and it was pretty obvious the other two were doing work the whole time. This experience did not make me want to work with these people so I told them that I did not want to move forward with the process. Hopefully others have a better experience than I did.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Only question asked is if I was willing to relocate
Sit down interview with senior project managers. They are very personable and respect their position. The interview process is thorough but informative. Make sure you are knowledgeable about your experience and the construction industry.
