I applied through a recruiter. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at RackTop Systems in Apr 2023
Interview
Insanely disorganized and weird - let alone taking way too long for simple steps to happen. First interview was nice, but it doesn't seem like there's any one person owning the hiring process or positions - nobody seemed to know exactly what the position entailed. Second interview (three weeks later), the technical interview, also had zero context on the position or even who I was - it was a short barrage of syntax and segfault questions I'd expect from an entry-level position, and then zero feedback or even attempt to discern experience or knowledge, before ending the call awkwardly and early. As somebody who's run successful hiring for engineering teams, I'd suggest y'all put the people who understand the need and the assignment in charge of the testing next time, otherwise you're really only pulling in the grut. It's a senior-level position for data ETL and heavy systems, why are you gauging things based on StackOverflow questions for college graduates.

Question 1
Asked to check basic go code and see if I could spot tricky compiler issues. That was it, don't expect anything about data, optimizations or even meta-knowledge - if you can pass a w3schools golang test, you're good.
