Application
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Qonto in Oct 2025
Interview
The interview process was very well-structured and transparent. It started with a one-hour call with the Talent Acquisition Partner, followed by a one-hour discussion with a Team Lead focused on my past experience and technical background. After that, I completed a take-home assignment, which was later reviewed in a 90-minute session with two backend engineers where we discussed my approach and design choices in detail.
The final stage was a one-hour interview with senior leadership to assess cultural and value alignment. After each step, there was a short 15-minute debrief call to share feedback and next steps, which I really appreciated.
Everyone I met throughout the process was friendly, thoughtful, and professional. The Talent Acquisition Partner in particular went above and beyond to make the experience smooth and supportive.

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Qonto (Paris) in Mar 2025
Interview
A very well designed and enjoyable process. Good communication and feedback along the way, every step of the process felt useful:
- a direct interview with a manager
- a take home project
- a project review with two engineers
- an interview with a head of department
I found the process very enjoyable:
- having a management / fit interview before technical testing is nice, as you don't have to go through testing if it doesn't fit
- interviewers are prepared and trained for interviewing. Interviewers put you at ease, seem to care and not just go through a list of questions.
- questions were open form, felt purposeful yet not tricky
Interview questions [2]
Question 1
The management interviews revolved around high level topics, such as values, methodology and priorities.
The take home project was related to the domain, interesting, not too long and well designed. It's designed to gauge general programming abilities with a focus on correctness.
